Dental Implants

Here are two main parts of a natural tooth, the root and the crown. The crown is what is visible in the mouth. The crown is used for chewing and it helps maintain the shape of the face. The root is what attaches the crown to the jaw and holds it in place. A dental implant is a modern and reliable way to replace a crown and root when they are damaged or lost.

Diagnosis

Digital xrays and 3D Cone Beam scan – Digital xrays emit 80 times less radiation than analog xrays and provide us with instant results in high resolution. When necessary, we can also take three-dimensional Cone Beam radiography to evaluate bone quality, jaw health, airway health, and help with diagnosing pain areas.

Itero 5D Wellness Scan

We have invested in the latest oral scanning device that tells us the health of your teeth and gums, as well as a heat index of your bite. This can tells us where your teeth are touching and how hard.

We offer this service complimentary at your first visit!

Sleep/bruxism At-Home Test

If you exhibit signs or symptoms of sleep apnea or trouble sleeping/breathing, we can offer an at-home sleep test to evaluate if you’re breathing well while you sleep, and if you’re grinding your teeth unconsciously. From there, we can prescribe and create a myriad of oral or nasal appliances to help with your sleep.

Sleep, TMJ, and Occlusal Orthotic Dental

At Smile First, we define your wellness by evaluating every new patient’s breathing, sleep quality, and head/neck/shoulder tension/posture.  We also create a variety of customized dental appliances that enhance breathing, biting, muscle relaxation and overall health/comfort.

Dental Implants

Replacing lost/missing teeth is one of our most life-changing services because it is often one of the most important things that you can do for your overall health. How your teeth come together and function affects much more than how your teeth appear and how you chew food. It is the foundation for neurosensory input to your head and neck, in other words, your brain knows where you are in space based on inputs from your feet, your eyes, and your teeth. When they do not function properly, it leads to the need for your body to compensate, using many joints and muscles much more than required. This not only requires a lot more energy, but it leads to chronic muscle pains, joint dysfunctions, increased chronic stress, and chronic inflammatory diseases.

Bite Calibration, or Full Mouth Rehabilitation

How your teeth come together and function affects much more than how your teeth appear and how you chew food. It is the foundation for neurosensory input to your head and neck, in other words your brain knows where you are in space based on inputs from your feet, your eyes, and your teeth. When they aren’t functioning properly, it leads to the need for your body to compensate by using many joints and muscles much more than required. This not only requires a lot more energy, but it leads to chronic muscle pains, joint dysfunctions, increased chronic stress, and chronic inflammatory diseases. In instances where we diagnose biting dysfunctions, we can offer you a bite calibration where we remove interferences in your bite.

At times, your bite can be severely compromised from either heavy grinding/wear or improper positioning. During your visit, we may recommend a blend of Invisalign aligner therapy (see below) and/or placing veneers or crowns on your teeth to precisely define an ideal bite and get a beautiful, dazzling new smile as an added bonus!

Invisalign Aligner Therapy

Clear and comfortable dental aligners are used in sequence to straighten your teeth into the proper position. We exclusively work with Invisalign, as they provide the highest quality materials, service, and precision.

Breathwork Therapy

Your overall breathing rate dictates every single biologic function in your body. How you breathe = how you live. Studies show that the average adult is breathing at an inflammatory rate, (12 breaths per minute, while the average elite athlete takes 5.5 breaths per minute) so it’s no surprise that most people are battling chronic stress and chronic inflammation. Dr. Cristian, who is a certified Buteyko clinic breath work practitioner, has created an online breath work training program to help regulate your breathing patterns in order to conquer chronic stress, and anxiety, and enhance every aspect of your overall health and wellness!

DNA Testing

Dr. Cristian is a DNALife registered clinician and provider. They are a Swiss company offering the most accurate, detailed, and cutting edge genetic and functional tests. A simply finger prick blood spot sample taken in our office can help us reveal a myraid of information relating to your oral and overall health!

Composite Fillings

Composite filling material (white filling) is a tooth colored material that can be used to restore cavities instead of the traditional silver fillings. Composite fillings have become the preferred choice for many dentists because they can be custom matched to the natural teeth.

Crowns

A dental crown is constructed to restore a tooth to its original size and shape following extensive dental treatment like a root canal or extraction, advanced tooth decay removal or a broken tooth.

Veneers

Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain made by a laboratory to replace the outer surfaces of teeth that are either damaged or unattractive. Similar to crowns and bridges, veneers are permanently cemented into place resulting in a more attractive and healthier smile. Made to match individual teeth impressions, dental veneers are paper-thin pieces of tooth-colored porcelain designed to conceal damaged or discolored dental enamel (outer layer of the tooth).

Emergency Dental Services

Some dental issues can’t wait for an appointment. Broken or knocked-out teeth or severe pain caused by trauma or infection require emergency dental care. If you’re seeking a dentist in the 60659 area or need immediate advice, email Dr. Cristian and he will respond ASAP: drcpavel@smilefirst.net

Root Canal Therapy

For a tooth that is infected, damaged, or decayed, root canal therapy may be the best form of treatment. Root canals are used to save your natural tooth by removing the pulp, nerves, and any bacteria. The space left behind is filled with medicated dental materials that restore the function of the tooth.

Dental Exams & Cleanings

Regular dental exams are an important part of maintaining healthy teeth and a beautiful smile. When it’s time for their family’s dental exams, Chicago, Lincolnwood, and Sauganash residents come to Smile First Family Dentistry to make sure their teeth are as strong and healthy as possible.

Scaling and Root Planing

Scaling and root planing are non-surgical procedures directed at removing the cause of gingival inflammation. This is accomplished by cleaning the dental surfaces below the gums. These procedures are most effective in patients who are suffering from inflammatory gum diseases such as gingivitis and mild to severe chronic periodontitis.
